New Age Fencing
Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information New Age Fencing collects through this website, why we collect it and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
New Age Fencing is a fencing and gate contractor based in George, Western Cape. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here. You can reach us, and our Information Officer, at:
- Paul Mitchell: 072 188 3696 (call or WhatsApp)
- Andries vd Heever: 061 171 8223
- Email: info@pmfencing.co.za
- Workshop: 3 Foundry Street, Store 3, George, Western Cape, 6529
What we collect
When you use the fence planner
To show you your measurements, the planner asks for:
- your name, mobile number and email address;
- the property address, if you choose to give it;
- the boundary you trace on the map, which includes its map coordinates and measurements;
- the fence, quality level, gates and site conditions you select.
When you press the button to see your measurements, these details are sent to us by email. You can then also send them to us yourself on WhatsApp or by email.
When you use the enquiry form
The enquiry form asks for your name, phone number, town, what you need and any notes. If you choose WhatsApp, it opens WhatsApp with the message filled in and nothing reaches us until you press send there. If you choose email, the form sends those details to us by email straight from the page. The website itself does not keep a copy.
When you contact us directly
If you phone, WhatsApp or email us, we receive whatever you choose to tell us.
What we do not collect
This website has no user accounts and takes no payments, so we never ask for passwords or card details here. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies and runs no analytics. The planner keeps the details you typed in your own browser for the length of your visit so that you do not have to retype them; that copy is cleared when you close the tab.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a site visit;
- measure, quote for and carry out the work;
- honour guarantees and deal with any later problem;
- keep the records the law requires of a business.
We collect it either because you asked us for a quote, because we need it to carry out a job you have ordered, or because the law requires it. We do not sell your information, and we will not send you marketing unless you have agreed to receive it. You can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with those who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- the provider that hosts this website and the automation service that receives planner submissions and emails them to us;
- our email provider;
- WhatsApp, when you choose to message us there;
- suppliers or subcontractors working on your job, where they need your address or contact details;
- authorities, where the law obliges us to.
The planner's map also relies on outside services. Satellite imagery comes from Esri, address search from OpenStreetMap, and fonts and map software from Google Fonts and cdnjs. As with any website, these services see your device's internet address when your browser loads them, and the address search receives the text you type into it.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that protect it to a standard comparable to POPIA.
Your location
The planner's “Use my location” button works only if you allow it in your browser. It is used to centre the map on your device. Your location is not sent to us unless you then trace a boundary and submit it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for your quote or job, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted once we no longer need them.
How we protect it
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need them to do their work. No system is perfectly secure. If your information is ever compromised in a way that could harm you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
- stop using your information for a purpose you object to, including marketing.
Contact us using the details above and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This website is meant for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
